Absolutely love Lincoln! My family and I always have our family reunions here. Plus there's a beach in the summer!
Shower houses were closed near our camper, never told this when we made reservations or when we entered the park. Prices have increased & people may find camping in a private campground more frugal. You have to pay a $9.00 fee out of state fee to enter, $7 if instate to enter the park, anyway. So what’s a little drive, If you can have proper amenities and are welcomed as guests should be treated at a private campground.
The park had cheap boat rentals, a nice beach with a basketball court and beach volleyball. The camp store was small, but the building it is in a nice and has hot food for sale during the day. There are many other activity options and wildlife was abundant. It was an amazing experience as a whole.
We rented a cabin for the week, which we were very happy with. We wish there was a microwave, but all other expected amenities. The price seemed a little high, but we had a fabulous time. The cabins are tucked back in a quiet secluded area, so it's nice and peaceful. There is a small playground right there and each cabin has a picnic table, a grill, and a fire pit.
I've stay at Lincoln couple of times in past years. This year some things have changed to my dislike. No more than one vehicle allowed at camp site. This creates a problem for handicap, long walk from overflow parking, if there is any. Bathroom showers dirty, dead cockroachs, very rude personnel at camp gate and DNR hired help. I will probably not go back and stay at Lincoln, don't need people like that to ruin a fun weekend.
Very nice park and very nice camp attends. We had campsites 109 &110. One thing we didn't like was you are only aloud one car per campsite you can have two things to stay in but can only have one car. Then the Lincoln boyhood home park across the street is beautiful as well.
Disappointing weekend. DNR hovered over us more than a helicopter parent. A yearly event with 49 units which about filled this camping area and we were treated like children. Too loud & we were one time. If that was all that DNR had addressed I would not be writing this review. We were too loud during the day while having a wonderful children’s event which lasted an hour. The children enjoyed pedal pulling contests through the donation of equpment and time by caring adults, but they used a PA system whichDNR said was too loud. A camper complained when he couldn’t get to his campsite because the road was blocked between three units. Never mind he was trying to go the wrong wAy on a one way street. DNR asked handicapped people to move their vehicle to the top parking lot, which was uphill. REALLY?
